Quick & Dirty

Tomorrow is moving day.  Tomorrow I move the last boxes, lock up the old house, and settle into my new one.

Yeah, it was going to be today that I got the last bits done – but like any good moving experience, there were a few last-minute contingencies to deal with.  Fortunately, I’ve moved before so I built in some buffer time.

I could stay up late tonight and work until forced to sleep by exhaustion, sure.  But that would just mean sleeping through a beautiful Monday morning (can you hear the sarcasm as I type the words ‘beautiful’ and ‘Monday morning’ in proximity to each other?) instead of sleeping when the rest of the world does.

I just told my husband I’d be upstairs in 10 minutes.  Some promises you keep not just for other people, but for yourself.

My promise to myself this week?  Make this new endeavor worth your time & mine.

Oh and the odd picture of the gunfighter? It’s because that’s what I think of whenever I hear the phrase “quick & dirty” — yeah, I know, it means “put together in a hurry and not particularly neat” — but it always makes me think of gunslingers.  Sometimes being faster to the draw was more important than being the most accurate.
